17 DAYS TRIP IN UGANDA.
DAY ONE: ZZIWA RHINOS AND MURCHISON FALLS
After breakfast, we set off early in the morning from Kampala to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a journey of about three hours via Wakiso, Luwero, and Nakasongola. Along the way, you will see roadside markets, farmlands, cattle grazing areas, and local villages. At Ziwa, we do registration and receive a briefing about rhinos before proceeding to the trekking point. Rhino trekking takes about one and a half hours, during which you will see white rhinos, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, monkeys, and various bird species. After trekking, we return to the office to drop off the ranger and have lunch at either the sanctuary restaurant or Kabalega Diners. After lunch, we proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. At the park entry, we register and continue to the falls. At the falls, we do hiking and falls viewing, where you will see the River Nile, powerful waterfalls, crocodiles below the falls, birds, and scenic rock formations. After the activities, we drive straight to Fort Murchison while enjoying a simple evening game drive, spotting elephants, giraffes, antelopes, and buffaloes. Dinner and overnight.
DAY TWO: GAME DRIVE AND BOAT CRUISE.
After early morning breakfast, we drive into the park for a game drive. During the drive, we shall sight animals such as elephants, lions, giraffes, hyenas, buffaloes, antelopes, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and many bird species. The open savannah grasslands offer excellent wildlife viewing and photography. After the gamedrive, we return to the hotel for lunch. By 1:00 pm, we proceed for a boat cruise on the River Nile. During the three-hour cruise, you will see hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants drinking at the riverbanks, monitor lizards, and numerous bird species including fish eagles, kingfishers, and herons. After the cruise, we return to the hotel for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.
DAY THREE: EARLY MORNING GAME DRIVE AND TRANSFER TO KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK.
After morning breakfast, we enjoy a simple early morning game drive to increase chances of spotting more animals such as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and antelopes. After the drive, we proceed to Kibale Forest National Park via Buliisa, Hoima, Kyenjojo, and Fort Portal. Along the way, you will see oil exploration areas, forests, rivers, tea plantations, roadside markets, and the Rwenzori mountain ranges. We havea stopover in Hoima for lunch. As we continue, the scenery becomes greener and more mountainous. On arrival at Kibale Forest Camp, we receive a briefing about the hotel, relax, dinner, and overnight.
DAY FOUR: CHIMPANZEE TREKKING AND NATURE WALK.
After early morning breakfast at around 7:00 am, we drive to UWA offices for a briefing before heading to the trekking point. Chimpanzee trekking takes about three to five hours. During the trek, you will see chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black- and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, forest birds, butterflies, and tall tropical trees. After trekking, clients receive certificates and return to the hotel for lunch. By 3:00 pm, we drive to Bigodi Swamp, where the swamp walk begins. During the walk, you will see birds such as the Great Blue Turaco, monkeys, insects, reptiles, and wetland vegetation. After
the activity, we return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY FIVE: CRATER LAKES AND TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK.
After breakfast, we drive to the crater lakes region, enjoying scenic views of crater lakes, rolling hills, tea plantations, and villages. You may spot birds, monkeys, and local farmers along the way. We continue toward Queen Elizabeth National Park, with views of the Rwenzori Mountains. We make a stopover at the Equator for information and photography before proceeding to Eshama Safari Lodge for lunch. After lunch, we go for a game drive lasting two to three hours, where you will see elephants, lions, hyenas, buffaloes, hippos, antelopes, and warthogs. Dinner and overnight.
DAY SIX: GAME DRIVE AND BOAT CRUISE.
After breakfast, we go for another game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park to increase chances of seeing lions, elephants, leopards (on lucky days), buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, and birds. After the drive, we return to the hotel for relaxation and lunch. By 3:00 pm, we drive to Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise. During the cruise, you will see large schools of hippos, crocodiles, elephants bathing, buffaloes, and numerous bird species including pelicans and African fish eagles. Dinner and overnight.
DAY SEVEN: TRANSFER TO ISHASHA AND BWINDI IMPENETREABLEFOREST NATIONAL PARK.
After breakfast, we drive to the Ishasha sector for a game drive. This area is famous for tree-climbing lions, which you may see resting in fig trees. You will also see elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and birds. After lunch in Ishasha, we drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, passing through hilly terrain, forests, villages, and plantations. Arrival at Mutanda Safari Lodge is late evening. Dinner and overnight.
DAY EIGHT: GORILLA TREKKING.
After early morning breakfast, with enough water and packed lunch, we drive to UWA offices for a briefing. Gorilla trekking takes about five to nine hours dependingon the trekking point. During the trek, you will see mountain gorillas, forest birds, butterflies, and dense forest vegetation. This is the highlight of the safari. After trekking, certificates are awarded. We return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.
DAY NINE: HIKING ON SABINYO MOUNTAIN.
After early morning breakfast, we carry packed lunch and water and drive to Mgahinga National Park with a ranger. The Mount Sabinyo hike takes about nine hours. Along the trail, you may see golden monkeys, forest birds, bamboo forests, and
volcanic landscapes. At the summit, you stand at the borders of Uganda, Rwanda, andDR Congo. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY TEN: TREKKING GOLDEN MONKEYS.
After early breakfast, we proceed to Mgahinga National Park for golden monkey trekking. During the trek, you will see golden monkeys, other primates, birds, bamboo forests, and scenic volcanic slopes. After the activity, we return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY ELEVEN: BATWA HERITAGE SITES.
After early morning breakfast, we drive to UWA offices for a briefing and proceed with a ranger for the Batwa cultural experience. During the activity, you will learn about traditional forest life,
hunting methods, caves, dances, and medicinal plants while walking through the forest. You may also see birds and forest wildlife. Dinner and overnight
DAY TWELVE: TRANSFER TO LAKE BUNYONYI AND A BOATCRUISE. After breakfast, we transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, enjoying views of terraced hills, villages, and farmlands. On arrival at Keije Safari Lodge, we receive a briefing and have lunch. In the evening, we go for a boat cruise, visiting Punishment Island and other islands. You will see birds, fishermen, and scenic landscapes. Dinner and overnight.
DAY THIRTEEN: RELAXATION DAY.
This is a full relaxation day. You may enjoy lake views, swimming, canoeing, birdwatching, and peaceful surroundings.
DAY FOURTEEN: TRANSFER FROM BUNYONYI TO LAKE MBURONATIONAL PARK.
After lunch, we drive to Lake Mburo National Park, passing through countryside, cattle farms, and rolling hills. On arrival at Eagle Nest Safari Lodge, we receive a briefing, dinner, and overnight.
DAY FIFTEEN: NATURE WALK AND BOAT CRUISE. After early breakfast, we pick up a ranger for a guided nature walk. During the walk, you will see zebras, giraffes, elands, impalas, topis, baboons, warthogs, and birds. After lunch, we go for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo, spotting hippos, crocodiles, water birds, and then enjoy a simple evening game drive. Dinner and overnight.
DAY SIXTEEN: CYCLING AND NIGHT GAME DRIVE. After breakfast, we enjoy a cycling safari, spotting zebras, impalas, giraffes, buffaloes, and birds at close range. After lunch and relaxation, we go for an evening or night game drive, where you may see leopards, hyenas, bush babies, and nocturnal birds. Dinner and overnight.
DAY SEVENTEEN: TRANSFER BACK TO KAMPALA OR AIRPORT. After early morning breakfast, we start on our journey to kampala or airport. We shall have a stopover at the equator for lunch and photography and continue to our final destination.
